Leeds Rowing Club enjoyed its most successful day in its history at the York Summer Regata.
In blustery conditions, they won four out of five races. The women's sweep oar squad took its first vistory this year.

Spokesman, Matthew Rubery, said: "This briongs our regatta win tally to 10 for the year, an impressive total for a young club.

"We opened in the summer of 2006 and have grown to over 60 members. Many had never rowed before joining the club.

"Crews train at Waterloo Lake in Roundhay Park where the boathouse is conveniently located beneath the Lakeside Cafe.

"Our top priority is to buy new equipment. Currently, we have to borrow boats from others clubs in order to compete at regattas because of a lack of a boat trailer."
