North Leeds CC 2nds beat Horsforth in the first round of the cup.
McCullow and Robinson opened up well for the home side and despite a tight openeing 8 overs we hadn't made that all important break through.

9 overs 1 for 28 for Andrew Cheeseman was a vast improvement from Saturday, the work with Spungles in the nets starting to reap rewards.

64 for 1 in the 18th, 101 for 2 in the 26th was steady progress for Horsforth. 9 overs on the bounce for Brian Stevens proved he's ready to stake a claim for a regular place.

Amir Farooq managed a 6 over spell without collapsing and after his second shorter spell had figures of 3 for 23 of 9.

Fadi Laq continued his good form picking up 4 for 40.

Target 207! More than we hoped to chase. A strategy rethink required before the next round if we get through!

Hard work from ball 1!!

A pair of lefties put us under pressure from the off and at 26 for 1 from the first 10 overs it was game on!

Guy Hollis' 23 helped us to 44 for 2 in the 13th. Westy dogged it out for a scatchy 44 putting on 60 with Plums.

Liam Gray's 22 helped get us 50 closer, but we now needed a run a ball for the last 10 overs when mark Singleton joined the now resident Plums.

A brilliant 77NO from Steve Plummer and 29NO from Mark Singleton saw us home with just 2.2 overs to spare. Big Up the NLCC middle order!!

Hard to believe Horsforth are without a win at the bottom of Div2!!

Tong Park in the next round! Long way off touching the silverware yet but heading in the right direction!!
