This game was the first of two weekend fixtures away to Kirkstall Crusaders.

From the off it was clear that Kirkstall were up for this game and they worked extremely hard in the early stages of the game and a little against the run of play we took the lead on four minutes after a corner wasn't cleared and Markel Henry managed to force the ball into the back of the net.

Kirkstall continued to work hard however we matched their endeavour and on eight minutes found ourselves 2-0 up through an excellent half volleyed finish by Markel who secured an amazing seven minute hat-trick shortly after with a superb volleyed effort from outside the box.

The game went a bit quiet from then on however we did create chances and Trust had very little to do in our goal with every attack being dealt with by our defence.

We went in at half time with a comfortable 3-0 lead however we stressed the importance of maintaining our levels of hard work and ensuring we concentrated fully to not give away our lead.

Five minutes into the second half we made it 4-0 through what only can be described an amazing goal by Taff Mumbanya. The ball was virtually on the dead ball line but Taff managed to rifle an outstanding volley into the goal from an unbelievable angle!

We continued to press for goals and Taff scored his second on 43 minutes, this time with his right foot (which he claims he can't use!) to make it 5-0 and seal the game.

Two minutes later Aiden Yaffe scored a much deserved goal which has been coming for weeks and his hard work paid off as he headed in after a scramble around the goal line. Kirkstall's hard work throughout the game was rewarded after a dodgy bounce landed at the feet of a Kirkstall player who finished well into the bottom corner.

Aiden's first goal gave him the extra confidence he needed and he scored his second three minutes from time after some great work down the left by Markel who crossed in for Aiden to head in his second and our seventh.

The game finished 7-1 to North East Leeds and we were extremely pleased with the performance on a muddy and difficult pitch.

Kirkstall worked very hard to the final whistle and it was pleasing to see us match that work rate.

Man-of-the-match was awarded to Markel not only for his hat-trick, but his assists and constant hard work, chasing down everything and giving their defence a torrid time.

Hopefully we can continue this performance into tomorrow's game at Garforth and register some more points on the board.

The squad: Trust Ncube, Dom Roberto, Billy Clarke, Stephen Carr, Michael Chukwu, Taff Mumbanya, Lawrence Roberts, Declan Denison, Josh Baggott, Markel Henry, Aiden Yaffe, Oliver Batley.

Man-of-the-match: Markel Henry.
