The New Year started with a highly entertaining game and was a credit to junior football.
It started with pressure from North East Leeds, however against the run of play Old Mods took the lead on four minutes.
North East Leeds chased an equaliser and had a string of chances however, the Old Mods keeper was equal to them and this proved to be the case throughout the game.
The team's hard work paid off on the stroke of hard time after Markel Henry was rugby tackled by the goal keeper which gave away a penalty. Josh Baggott took the penalty and held his nerve to make the score 1-1.

While North East Leeds continued to struggle to find the winning goal, Old Mods caught us on the break and scored their second goal with only five minutes to go.
There was an air of disbelief on the sidelines, however North East Leeds continued with great determination.
Markel Henry's hard work resulted in a free kick just outside the box, which Josh Baggott took and scored with an amazing, powerful curling effort sending the players and fans into raptures. The ecstasy was short lived as from the kick off Old Mods went on the attack and we gave away a penalty.
Trust Ncube managed to save the penalty and once again our fans were jumping with joy!
The result cause mixed emotions; relief that we managed to avoid defeat through hard work and determination but a lot of frustration that we did not win after all the chances that were created.
We were extremely proud of the players and the team spirit they displayed throughout the game.
There were also excellent performances throughout the game including Stephen Carr who was superb at the back, Markel Henry who worked tirelessly up front winning both the penalty and free kick which resulted in both goals, Josh Baggott who scored both goals and Michael Chukwu who was outstanding at left back.
However all the team should be proud of themselves. Particularly Trust Ncube who won the man of the match award for his last minute penalty save earning us a valuable point.
