Councillor Valerie Kendall (Cons, Roundhay) said:
"I am delighted to see that Roundhay High School has been named on Ofsted's list of outstanding schools. It has been one of the best performing schools in the city for a number of years now and provides a first class education for all its students.
"As a governor at the school, I have seen first hand the hard work that staff and pupils alike have put in over recent years. This has led to fantastic exam results for many of the students, and it is great to see the school getting the recognition it deserves."
Coun Kendall added: "The fact that Roundhay is the only high school in the city to achieve this status is a testament to the standards the school sets.
"I am sure the school will want to build on this accomplishment and achieve even greater success in years to come."
