Roundhay Park prepares for annual bonfire & fireworks spectacular

Thousands are expected to flock to Roundhay Park to celebrate Guy Fawkes night in style. Click here for full details.
The Roundhay Park event, traditionally the biggest-attended display in the city, is being held oin Monday, November 5.

It starts with the lighting of the fire at 7.30pm and the firework display is at 8pm.

Customer services company Ventura and radio station Magic 828 are sponsoring the bonfires and displays.

Magic 828 is organising a competition and the lucky winner will help Councillor Bill Hyde (Con, Temple Newsam), leisure services lead member, light the Roundhay Park bonfire.

Coun Hyde said: "Bonfire Night is one of the most exciting events of the year and a great time for friends and family to get together.

"The atmosphere is always fantastic and everyone can enjoy the free community bonfires and wonderful firework displays in a safe environment."

Ventura's attraction and supplier recruitment manager Suzanne Partner said: "Ventura are extremely proud to be sponsoring this year's Bonfire extravaganza which promises to be a fantastic night for all."

Glenn Pinder, from Magic 828 who will be hosting the Roundhay Park event, said :"I'm honoured to be hosting the Roundhay bonfire in my home town. It's going to be a great night."
